My work focuses on dreams and the surreal – specifically, the Freudian concept of "the uncanny," the psychological experience of that which is simultaneously foreign and familiar to us. In creating these works, I compare and connect painting with the act of dreaming. Both reflect the strange ways in which we distort and interpret our own observations and experiences.
